Yes. By federal law, patients have the right to choose their home health care provider.
Yes. Atlantic Visiting Nurse is a highly rated agency accredited by the Joint Commission. We are a Medicare certified home health and hospice provider.
Before services can begin, the patient’s physician or non-physician practitioner must write an order that prescribes home care. For self-referrals, our Care Access Center staff will be happy to contact the patient’s physician or non-physician practitioner. Once Atlantic Visiting Nurse receives the order, we’ll contact the insurance company and determine if authorization is required and what services are covered. We’ll notify the patient of any co-pays or deductibles and schedule the first appointment.
Home health care offers skilled nursing and therapy services, prescribed by a physician, to help people recover from illness or surgery, manage chronic conditions, and stay safely out of the hospital.
Personal care services aid individuals with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grocery shopping, feeding and meal preparation.
To qualify for Medicare home care benefits, a patient must be homebound. To be considered homebound, a person has a general inability to leave home due to illness or injury. Absences from home must be infrequent and of short duration due to the taxing nature of leaving the house.

Atlantic Visiting Nurse participates in Medicare and Medicaid, as well as most commercial insurances.
If your physician certifies that you need home care, your Medicare A benefits will cover it 100% for the length of time deemed necessary.
Our home care liaisons at Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, Newton Medical Center, Chilton Medical Center, Hackettstown Medical Center, Atlantic Rehabilitation and numerous other health care facilities throughout our service area will call your doctor, verify your insurance and coordinate all the services you need. People in out-of-area hospitals can also access our home care services.
