Services & tests we offer
Our team conducts various tests to establish a baseline and determine the proper course for achieving any athletic goal.
VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen your body can utilize during intense exercise, which indicates your level of cardiorespiratory fitness. The test takes approximately 8-12 minutes, during which you’ll wear a specialized mask that measures your gas exchange while exercising on a treadmill or bike. You’ll also be connected to a 12-lead EKG to accurately measure your heart rate and monitor cardiovascular response. At the end of the test, you’ll know your aerobic capacity, anaerobic threshold, ratio of fuel utilization and individualized heart rate training zones.
Resting metabolic rate is the number of calories burned when your body is at rest. The test takes approximately 20-30 minutes, during which you’ll be seated in a chair wearing a specialized mask that assesses the heat generated based on oxygen consumed and carbon dioxide released. At the end of the test, you’ll know the amount of energy your body burns at rest and how it uses fats and carbohydrates for energy.
Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is considered the gold standard in body composition analysis. This scan analyzes the density of your body to measure the amount of lean mass, fat mass, and visceral fat that you have.
