Neurosurgery

We treat neurological disorders with advanced surgical care. Our teams use functional, spinal and stereotactic radiosurgery techniques to support recovery and a return to daily life.

Specialized surgery

Atlantic Health's multidisciplinary teams of neurology specialists, neurosurgeons and neuroradiology specialists are experts in surgical treatment of neurological disorders. We collaborate with patients and family members to plan and implement individualized treatment services that optimize recovery and facilitate a return to normal activities.

Functional neurosurgery

Using minimally invasive, stereotactic surgery to isolate targeted areas in the brain, our neurosurgeons remove tumors to address intractable tremors, Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy. Stereotactic procedures permit surgeons to remove brain tumors while avoiding critical structures.

Spinal surgery

Our neurosurgeons use minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat degenerative and traumatic spinal cord injuries and nerve compression resulting from herniated discs, bony spurs or tumors. Spinal cord tumors, vascular malformations and spasticity procedures are done in collaboration with specialists in those areas.

Stereotactic radiosurgery

The stereotactic radiosurgery program at Atlantic Health was the first of its kind in New Jersey. It offers CyberKnife state-of-the-art focused radiation to treat brain tumors, vascular malformations, and pain and movement disorders.
