FREEHOLD – FEBRUARY 19, 2025 – Freehold Emergency Medical Services and Atlantic Mobile Health, a division of Atlantic Health System, have partnered to establish an EMS Training Center for the Greater Freehold region. This collaboration expands access to high-quality prehospital and EMS training, which will better serve the local community and enhance the preparedness of emergency medical teams.

This partnership stems from the shared commitment to comprehensive, community-based health care solutions and a mutual connection to CentraState Medical Center, in Freehold, which is part of Atlantic Health System, and serves the primary emergency response area.

Through this collaboration, Freehold EMS will leverage the expertise and resources of the Atlantic Mobile Health Training Center to offer a robust array of educational programs to the region.

The new training center will be housed at the state-of-the-art Freehold Emergency Medical Services headquarters, providing a modern, well-equipped facility for EMS professionals. The training programs will be delivered by Atlantic Mobile Health’s Training Center instructors, further solidifying Atlantic Mobile Health’s commitment to high-quality, innovative healthcare solutions and to building healthier communities through education and collaboration.

The training opportunities will include Continuing Education (CEU) classes for EMS professionals as well as an initial Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program. The introduction of these programs comes in response to the increasing demand for certified EMTs across the state but specifically in the greater Freehold area. By providing local, accessible training, the partnership aims to mitigate the shortage of certified EMTs, ensuring that local response agencies are prepared to deliver critical care in emergency situations.

“This partnership is a direct investment in our local EMS teams and in the health and safety of our neighbors," said David Petersen, director of clinical and quality education for Atlantic Mobile Health. "By delivering these training programs, we are helping to build stronger, more resilient communities while addressing urgent workforce needs in the EMS field.”

The Atlantic Mobile Health vision is to set an industry standard for transport medicine. This collaboration will expand access to high-quality training for EMTs and will fulfill Atlantic Health System’s brand promise by ensuring that our EMS teams are well-prepared to serve the community with expertise and care.

“We are thrilled to partner with Atlantic Mobile Health to bring this important training resource to Freehold,” said Jeremy Hoffman, Chief of Freehold EMS. “This center will play a crucial role in developing a well-trained EMS workforce, enhancing the level of care we provide, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.”
