Surgery for the endocrine glands requires both the technical skills, as well as the understanding of, the complexity of endocrine disorders.

The surgeons at Atlantic Surgical Oncology have significant experience in surgery of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands and work in concert with endocrinologists to provide state of the art care. We treat both cancerous and benign tumors in the endocrine system. If you have a cancer diagnosis, our multidisciplinary specialists will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that will target the cancer and help to normalize the level of hormones in your body.

Every year, hundreds of patients will be seen for melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma and other skin cancers by our physicians.

Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer and can form in your eyes, mucous membrane and skin. It is less common than other types of skin cancer, but it is much more likely to spread to other parts of the body. Although melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma represent the most common skin tumors, there are a number of uncommon types of skin cancer that benefit from a multidisciplinary approach.

The medical team at Atlantic Surgical Oncology treats soft tissue sarcomas are tumors that arise from soft tissues of the body such as fat, muscle, nerves, fibrous tissues, blood vessels. They can also be found in the arms, legs trunk, head and neck area, internal organs, and the abdominal cavity. Sarcomas can easily spread to other parts of the body and metastasize to other organs, forming a secondary tumor.
