Troy Wood, MD

Troy Wood, MD, is a physician with Atlantic Health, specializing in conditions that impact neurologic, muscular and/or skeletal systems. He is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in interventional spine and sports medicine.

With more than 10 years of experience, Dr. Wood has broad expertise in diagnosing and treating pain as a result of injury, illness, or a disabling condition. He understands that people experience pain differently and he works to assess each patient’s level of pain and their goals for rehabilitation. As a physiatrist, his focus is on non-surgical techniques to help patients achieve peak functionality and quality of life. Dr. Wood utilizes state-of-the-art procedures for diagnosis and treatment, and he has special training in electrodiagnostic medicine, which measures electrical signals in the nerves and muscles that can help inform treatment. With each patient encounter he employs an honest, empathetic, and reassuring approach as he works in partnership to alleviate pain and help people live the life they desire. He is a member of the Spine Intervention Society whose mission is to develop and promote the highest standards for interventional pain procedures.

After earning his medical degree from Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, Dr. Wood completed his residency at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison, NJ, and fellowship training in interventional spine and sports medicine at Coordinated Health in Pennsylvania, part of the Lehigh Valley Health Network. From 2016-2019, he served as Lehigh University’s spine specialist, taking care of athletes with spinal issues and injuries. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
