Shilpi Gupta, MD

Dual board-certified in hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Gupta brings over a decade of clinical and research experience and expertise to Atlantic Medical Group. Dr. Gupta works closely with multidisciplinary groups in diagnosis and management of early stage and advanced breast cancers, and cancers of the head and neck area. She closely collaborates with physicians in surgical oncology and radiation oncology to deliver outstanding care to her patients and their family. She also treats benign hematology disorders such as anemia, and other blood abnormalities.

Dr. Gupta completed her medical school at one of the best institutions in India and then went on to complete her internal medicine residency and hematology and oncology fellowship at Staten Island University Hospital, Northwell Health. After completing her education, she served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northwell Health System in Staten Island. She was also faculty member at State University of New York (SUNY Downstate) during her association with Staten Island Hospital. She subsequently joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she continued her commitment to excellent patient care.

Dr. Gupta is also an active volunteer for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and continues to participate in various endeavors towards improvement in cancer care at a global level. She is widely published, and has won awards for her research and publications. She continues to actively enroll patients in breast oncology and head and neck oncology and serves as the principal investigator for several clinical trials within Atlantic Health System.

Dr. Gupta is also the Associate Program Director of the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program at Atlantic Health System, and continues to mentor and train residents and fellows.

Fluent in English and Hindi, Dr. Gupta is part of Atlantic Medical Group and a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
