Shiksha R Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma is board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has more than five years of experience in treating a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid conditions, adrenal and pituitary diseases, as well as osteoporosis. Dr. Sharma is committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based, and personalized care with the utmost compassion. She places great emphasis on patient comfort and education, empowering individuals to understand and manage their endocrine conditions. Guided by the latest clinical guidelines, Dr. Sharma takes pride in fostering a collaborative and informed care experience.

After earning her medical degree from Pune, India, Dr. Sharma completed residency in Internal medicine at Medstar Washington hospital center, Washington, D.C. Dr. Sharma then completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at Montefiore medical center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, N.Y. Prior to joining Primary Care Partners, Dr. Sharma was caring for patients in North Virginia and Maryland for six years.

During her fellowship, Dr. Sharma presented her research on diabetes at the American Diabetes Association’s annual meeting. She is an active member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
