Shabnam Gupta, MD

Shabnam Gupta, MD, is a fellowship-trained nephrologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she has more than 20 years of specialized experience in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the kidney, as well as hypertension, providing patients with compassionate care. She has advanced training to identify and manage more complex or advanced kidney disorders.

Dr. Gupta is part of the Hypertension and Renal Group PA in Livingston, which recently changed its name to Atlantic Medical Group Nephrology at Livingston. Joining AMG provides patients a deeper connection to comprehensive and specialized care, all seamlessly connected as part of Atlantic Health System.

After earning her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, Dr. Gupta performed an internal medicine residency at Kings County Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. She then received fellowship training in nephrology at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY, which is also a transplant center.

Dr. Gupta has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor several times in a row by Jersey’s Best magazine and New York magazine. She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Gupta is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
