Saurabh Sharma, MD, is a fellowship trained surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group with special expertise in bariatric, foregut and minimally invasive surgery. Board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine, he offers advanced surgical techniques that are effective for those in need of intervention for obesity, heartburn other abdominal disorders.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Dr. Sharma offers options for patients with obesity to lose weight including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and gastric banding surgery. He is skilled in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, and he uses the most advanced techniques which result in superior outcomes and rapid recovery for patients. Along with a team of health professionals specially trained to help patients overcome the challenges of obesity, he provides pre-surgery evaluation and preparation for patients as well as post-surgical medical and emotional support. Dr. Sharma earned his degree from the Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India, and completed his residency training at New York Presbyterian Queens. He pursued a fellowship in bariatric surgery and advanced laparoscopy from the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, NY, where he gained unparalleled exposure to diverse minimally invasive procedures and techniques. Dr. Sharma is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
