About me
Dr. Paul Brown is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group Orthopedics at Clark, specializing in sports medicine. He focuses on the management of complex ligamentous and tendinous conditions involving the knee, shoulder, and elbow, with a passion for caring for athletes of all levels and age groups—from youth and recreational athletes to high-performance competitors.
A former collegiate baseball player, Dr. Brown experienced firsthand the importance of proper injury prevention, accurate diagnosis, comprehensive treatment, and effective rehabilitation. This perspective shapes his patient-centered approach to care and his commitment to restoring function, performance, and long-term joint health.
Dr. Brown offers both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, tailoring care to each patient’s specific needs. He is highly skilled in minimally invasive arthroscopic and reconstructive techniques, which help minimize scarring, optimize recovery, and improve clinical outcomes. He is also deeply passionate about the treatment of cartilage injuries of the knee, with a focus on advanced biologic and regenerative techniques that utilize a patient’s own cells to restore and regenerate damaged articular cartilage following injury.
Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Northwell Health–Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University in Long Island, where he served as chief resident and teaching associate. He then completed his orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the nationally recognized Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Irvine, California.
Experienced in the care of athletes across all levels of sport, Dr. Brown has participated in the care of several professional and collegiate teams, including the Los Angeles Chargers, New York Lizards, and the University of California, Irvine. He has also worked extensively with high school athletes and coordinated game coverage for fellow residents.
Dr. Brown has been involved in multiple research initiatives, particularly in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, including studies on graft selection and anatomic graft placement. He has also published on the use of collagen graft augmentation in rotator cuff repair to enhance healing and recovery.
He maintains active membership in the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO). He is also a member of Atlantic Medical Group and a participating provider within the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.

- 5.0Jul 31, 2026From the minute, we stepped into the office everyone was just polite accommodating, the nurse was so attentive take down all our data. The x-ray tech was very polite. She also let me come into the room with my mother because my mother kept asking for me. She understood the situation. She was very careful. She Prepared and adjusted my mother to take appropriate x-rays. She was very gentle and very quick. Dr. Brown was so polite and gentle and he educated us on her future care and let us know what her long-term option was and he relieve some of her pain at the moment. I will definitely be going back to him as she will need more services and wants to come.
- 5.0Jul 21, 2026The staff works seamlessly together. The directions are clear and the hand-off to partners is courteous.
- 5.0Jul 21, 2026Dr. Brown was very helpful in explaining the potential cause of my shoulder pain. He pointed out what the x-ray showed and recommended a treatment process. To alleviate my discomfort he advised I could take an oral anti-inflammatory or an injection. I chose the oral option. He also recommended physical therapy to help improve my range of motion in my left arm. I really appreciate his calm demeanor and clear explanation.
- 5.0Jun 18, 2026Very pleasant experience with the doctor nurses technicians and receptionist
- 5.0Jun 13, 2026Dr. Brown was knowledgeable, thoughtful, attentive and concerned. He was not quick to dismiss or judge. He was genuine and authentic in demeanor and figuring out what the heck is going on with my hip. He wasn't looking for quick answers- he is looking for the right answers for the best course of action. I am not easily impressed and could tend to be a tough one when judging doctors and Dr. Brown passed the test for me for sure.
