Mark Leekoff, MD

Mark Leekoff, MD, MPH, is a fellowship-trained neurologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG) and serves as the site director for the Atlantic Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center in Bridgewater. Board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Leekoff specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) and other neuroimmunological conditions. These conditions arise when the immune system begins to attack itself, causing damage to the nerves, brain, and other tissues, and resulting in various health issues.

Dr. Leekoff’s expertise encompasses understanding the balance between the nervous and immune systems and how they function together. He is a strong advocate for compassionate, patient-centered care and shared decision-making. He values listening to his patients’ concerns and explaining his recommendations in detail, ensuring that his patients are fully informed about their condition and treatment plan.

After earning his medical degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV, Dr. Leekoff completed his neurology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, and then pursued a fellowship in multiple sclerosis/ neuroimmunology at the same institution and the VA Maryland Healthcare System. Before embarking on his medical journey, he earned a master’s in public health (MPH) from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Leekoff has contributed to multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals on topics including post-traumatic stress disorder in MS patients. He has also been a featured speaker on various topics in multiple sclerosis as well as NMOSD. He is a member of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers and the American Academy of Neurology, and he is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
