Maria A Lavaia, MD

Maria Lavaia, MD, is the lead physician at Atlantic Medical Group Pediatrics at Morristown. Board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, she specializes in caring for infants, children, and young adults with special attention to their continued physical, psychological, and emotional development. Dr. Lavaia is skilled at diagnosing and treating common childhood illnesses and injuries and pays special attention to monitoring the achievement of milestones in a child’s development. Her warm and compassionate demeanor builds trust with her young patients and creates an openness with parents to discuss any concerns.

Dr. Lavaia earned her medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY, and completed her residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, New York, NY. For over 30 years she has delivered evidence-based pediatric medical care in a collaborative group practice. Presently, she is also the lead physician for faculty development for the department of pediatrics at Atlantic Health System.

Dr. Lavaia is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
