About me
John Calicchio, DO, is a primary care physician with Atlantic Medical Group. Board-certified in family practice by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, he has over 25 years of experience caring for children and adults with acute and chronic conditions. Knowledgeable and understanding, Dr. Calicchio helps navigate the path for patients and assists them in making informed choices regarding their health. He is focused on prevention and well-being and ensuring his patients obtain the best care for their needs.
Dr. Calicchio earned his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, NY, and completed his residency at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY, where he was the recipient of an award for excellence in family practice.
Dr. Calicchio is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.

He knows my medical history inside out. When he sees me during an examination, he is beyond thorough and has a friendly, welcoming bedside manner. He is on top of all my health issues and goes over each and every one with a fine-tooth comb with me. He is the same way with helping me manage all my medications. I never feel rushed during my examination, and he explains everything in terminology I easily understand. I am so grateful for him, I cannot emphasize it enough. His staff is terrific, from the people who greet me when I arrive to the assistants who see me before Dr. Calicchio enters the room.
