Frederic J Scoopo, MD

Frederic J. Scoopo, MD, is a pulmonologist specializing in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in internal medicine with subspecialties in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he has over 25 years of experience treating disorders of the lungs and respiratory system, including interstitial lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and bronchiectasis. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients, and making sure they are educated about their condition and treatment.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington, CT, Dr. Scoopo performed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ, where he also served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. He has served as medical intensive care unit director at Morristown Medical Center, chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Morristown Medical Center, and currently serves as a clinical assistant professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He also holds a BS in chemistry, magna cum laude, from Villanova University, Villanova, PA. He has authored peer-reviewed publications, is a member of the professional organizations the American Thoracic Society and the American College Chest Physicians, and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
