Daniel Henry Hunt, MD

Daniel Hunt, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a highly experienced colon and rectal surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG) offering over 15 years of expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of lower digestive tract diseases. Board-certified by the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery, Dr. Hunt specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including advanced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures for conditions such as colon cancer, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and a wide range of anorectal disorders.

He is skilled in performing colonoscopies and surgical treatments for hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and other colorectal conditions, and is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, individualized care and empowering his patients through education about their health and treatment options.

Dr. Hunt earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Albany and his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his general surgery residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and St. Barnabas Medical Center. Following residency, he pursued specialized training in colorectal surgery through a minimally invasive colorectal fellowship at Lankenau Medical Center in Pennsylvania and a colorectal residency at New York- Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell and Columbia campuses).

Prior to joining AMG, Dr. Hunt served as an assistant professor of surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and was the site chief of colon and rectal surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Lower Manhattan. He is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS), and he has contributed extensively to the academic community through peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. Dr. Hunt is also a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
