About me
Dr. Daniel Harrington is a board-certified sports medicine physician whose goal is to provide early and accurate diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries or dysfunction, evidence-informed conservative treatment options whenever possible, and support rapid but safe return to sport or activity. His skillset, training, and expertise are aligned in addressing orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, arthritis, and tendon/ligament conditions. Dr. Harrington is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound (RMSK), which raises the standard of musculoskeletal ultrasound amongst physicians and promotes best practices for enhanced patient safety. In addition to a specialized history and physical exam, ultrasound can further assist in confirming a diagnosis. Dr. Harrington performs cortisone injections, platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections, hyaluronic acid viscosupplementation injections, nerve injections, percutaneous ultrasonic tenotomy (Tenex), cryoneurolysis (Iovera), and genicular radiofrequency ablations..
He completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He had previously served as chief resident at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center following his graduation from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Harrington is both team and school physician for Newark Academy, as well as team physician for Union County College.
Dr. Harrington is part of the Atlantic Medical Group and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
