Chukwuemeka Okafor, MD

Chukwuemeka T. Okafor, MD, is an anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he has more than seven years of experience administering anesthesia for surgeries, managing perioperative care, specializing in acute and chronic pain treatment and performing interventional pain procedures (epidurals, nerve blocks, injections, neuromodulation, etc.).

He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients and ensuring they are educated about their condition and treatment.

Dr. Okafor earned his bachelor’s degree in human biology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick Piscataway Campus, NJ, followed by his doctor of medicine degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ. He then completed an internal medicine preliminary year, anesthesiology residency and multidisciplinary chronic pain fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Prior to joining AMG, he served as an attending anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician at multiple hospitals and outpatient centers throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, providing perioperative anesthesia, acute and chronic pain management and mentoring residents across a wide range of specialties.

Dr. Okafor has delivered national presentations and abstracts, is a member of the professional organizations American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Spine Intervention Society. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
