About me
Cheryl L. Lyons, MSN, APN, ANP-C, is a licensed advanced practice nurse with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Nationally certified as an adult nurse practitioner (ANP-C) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program in 2013, Cheryl was a registered nurse for eight years prior to receiving additional training as a nurse practitioner. In her current position, Cheryl treats adult patients of all ages with compassion, gentleness and respect. Cheryl strives to establish strong patient relationships and clearly explain health issues and treatment protocols to her patients in a way that patients can understand. Cheryl’s focus is on general medical needs with a “whole person” approach, helping patients to develop lifestyle changes that also help to prevent illness and promote a better quality of life.
After earning her bachelor of science in nursing degree from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, graduating cum laude, meaning with honors, Cheryl served as a registered nurse for several years at Morristown Medical Center. This gave her a wide range of experience in patient care. She then earned her master of science in nursing with a focus as an adult nurse practitioner from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, NJ, graduating with a 4.0 average and winning the Student Excellence Award for outstanding academic performance. She has completed hundreds of hours as a nurse practitioner in primary care with over 10 years of experience serving this population.

- 5.0Dec 23, 2025I called the office, described my symptoms and was able to get an appointment two hours later. Both the nurse and the APN Cheryl Lyons were kind, listened to all I said and gave me two tests to rule out step and covid. Cheryl gave me a lot of time. She had my medical records and prescribed an antibiotic that worked well for me when I was in the hospital years earlier.Thank you all!!
