Charlesse M. Pondt Huannou, MD

Charlesse Pondt-Huannou, MD, is a fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist with Advanced Care Oncology and Hematology (ACOHA), part of Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in medical oncology and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she has more than 15 years of experience treating blood diseases and various forms of cancer. Dr. Pondt-Huannou is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for her patients. She listens thoroughly and takes time to carefully explain everything involved in the patient’s individualized plan of care.

Dr. Pondt-Huannou is an expert in the fields of breast and gynecological cancers; hematologic malignancies (myeloma and chronic leukemias and lymphomas); managing complex hematological issues in high-risk obstetric and gynecologic patients; sickle cell disease; and anemia. She is also experienced in the management of liver, bladder, colon, cervical, lung, prostate and pancreatic cancers. She joined ACOHA immediately out of fellowship in 2014.

After earning her medical degree from UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, Dr. Pondt-Huannou completed an internal medicine residency at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center concurrent with a residency at New York-Presbyterian, Cornell Medical Center, both in New York City. She completed a hematology and oncology fellowship at Albert Einstein College/Montefiore and Jacobi medical centers and Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, NY.

Dr. Pondt-Huannou is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American Medical Association, and the National Medical Association. She also serves on numerous committees including the Sickle Cell Management Committee at Overlook Medical Center. She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
