Bimal A Patel, DO

Bimal A. Patel, DO, is an interventional spine specialist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Patel specializes in evaluating and treating general, acute and chronic pain patients. He listens to his patients well and believes patient-centered care is key to developing effective pain management.

Dr. Patel performs fluoroscopic-guided epidural steroid injections, facet blocks/rhizotomy, joint injections, ultrasound guided nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks, botox injections, spinal cord stimulation trials and implants, minimally invasive lumbar decompression procedure, platelet rich plasma therapy, peripheral nerve stimulation, and cooled radiofrequency ablation.

After earning his osteopathic medicine degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, NY, Dr. Patel performed his residency in anesthesia at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH. Following that, he completed a regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine fellowship and a multidisciplinary chronic pain medicine fellowship, also at Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Patel has authored publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at national conferences. He is a member of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
