Benita Burke, MD

Benita M. Burke, MD, FACC, ABIHM, is a noninvasive cardiologist specializing in cardiovascular disease and women’s heart health with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she has more than 14 years of experience treating a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. Dr. Burke is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care and ensuring patients are educated about their condition, risk factors and treatment options so they can take an active role in their health.

After earning her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, Dr. Burke completed a residency in internal medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY. She then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of California, San Diego, in San Diego, CA. Prior to joining AMG, she served as a noninvasive cardiologist and medical director of Heart Care for Women at Valley Heart Group of The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in comprehensive science with honors from Villanova University in Villanova, PA, graduating summa cum laude.

Dr. Burke has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented her research at national scientific meetings, including the American Society of Echocardiography Annual Scientific Session. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been actively involved in community outreach and cardiovascular education throughout her career, with a particular focus on women’s heart health, cardio-oncology and preventive cardiology. She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
