Virtual urgent care is staffed by Atlantic Health System's urgent care locations — including doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other team members — to ensure that you have the same quality of care. Our team can connect you to local resources and our broader community of care.
If your provider deems it necessary, prescriptions are handled in the same manner as an in-person visit and are delivered electronically to the patient's pharmacy. Our providers are unable to write prescriptions for narcotics/controlled substances such as codeine or oxycodone.
Yes. Guided by up-to-date clinical practice guidelines, and backed by decades of research and demonstrations, online visits are a safe and cost-effective way to extend the delivery of health care. Atlantic Health System has produced a series of standards, guidelines and best practices for health care professionals to ensure that they are using these online platforms responsibly. This means patients receive the same quality of care as they would during an in-office visit.
If your telemedicine provider determines that you need an imaging test (such as an X-ray, MRI, or CT scan) or a physical in-person examination, they will guide you through the next steps.
