Telestroke

We use telemedicine technology to help diagnose potential stroke patients quickly, so treatment can begin as soon as possible.

Every second counts during a stroke

The faster a stroke is diagnosed, the sooner treatment can begin, thus preserving more of the patient’s brain function. That’s why Atlantic Health Neuroscience uses a telestroke robot that combines the latest in telemedicine technology with state-of-the-art navigation to rapidly diagnose potential stroke patients.

Using the telestroke robot’s camera and monitor system, an on-call neurologist can connect directly to the patient, family and medical team at the emergency department in a few minutes. Remote physicians can also assess medical imaging to make a fast, accurate diagnosis. Rapid reaction time and treatment can dramatically improve patient outcomes and ultimately save lives and decrease disability.
