Maureen A. Schneider

Maureen Schneider, PHD, MBA, RN, FACHE, is a seasoned healthcare executive who has dedicated her career to advancing care and leading caregivers with a patient-centered vision focused on delivering extraordinary outcomes and experiences. She recently stepped in to the role of Interim President and CEO of Atlantic Health CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ, after serving as President of Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center.

In her current position, Schneider is directly responsible for overseeing all operations and ensuring the quality, safety and financial integrity of Atlantic Health CentraState —a 284-bed acute care hospital, an ambulatory campus, numerous satellite pavilions and access points throughout central New Jersey, a charitable foundation and more than 2,500 employees.

A member of CentraState Healthcare System’s Board of Trustees since 2022, Schneider brings an in-depth understanding of the organization’s strategic direction. She has provided strong counsel and played a key governance role in the sustained growth of the medical center in recent years, including the expansion of key service lines and focus on improved access to healthcare for the growing population in Monmouth County, NJ.

Schneider joined Atlantic Health in 2014 as Chief Nurse and Operations Officer, Atlantic Health Chilton. She was named President of the medical center in 2022, and since then the medical center has garnered numerous clinical care and quality achievements. Her leadership of nursing teams has been instrumental in many of Atlantic Health Chilton's achievements and accolades. During the height of the pandemic in 2020, she led Atlantic Health Chilton to achieve Magnet® Accreditation Recognition for Nursing Excellence, the third healthcare organization to achieve this award under her leadership.

She is a sought-after national consultant and adjunct professor in RN – BSN, DNP/Ph.D./ and MBA programs and is a mentor in the Mentor Program for the American College of Healthcare Executives. She served on the board of several health care organizations including Seton Hall University and Monmouth University Advisory Councils, Springpoint Life, and is the former President of Executive Women of New Jersey and former board member of the New Jersey Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Schneider received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing, an MBA from Monmouth University, and a doctorate from Seton Hall University. She is certified in Advanced Nursing Administration, Quality Healthcare, is a Fellow in the College of Healthcare Executives and is a Johnson and Johnson Executive Wharton Fellow. She also teaches nursing doctoral and graduate leadership/management students at Seton Hall University.
